Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, Carroll, City of Galax, Floyd, Grayson, Pulaski and Wythe.

* WHEN...
Until 645 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 442 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Buddle Branch, Big Reed Island Creek, Brush Creek, Cripple Creek, Cranberry Creek, Big Indian Creek, Cove Branch, Chestnut Creek, Bull Run and Big Macks Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
