...Flood Advisory in Effect for A Portion of Wilkes County until 7 PM EDT this Evening...

* WHAT...
Heavy rainfall on saturated ground could result in flooding.

* WHERE...
Wilkes County in northwest North Carolina.

* WHEN...
Until 700 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over a few roadways in low-lying, normally flood prone areas and in areas of poor drainage. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 356 PM EDT, An area of showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rainfall, was noted in the general area between Wilbar and Millers Creek. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain has fallen in this area during the past 24 hours and additional rainfall this evening of 1 to 2 inches could result in minor flooding. Minor flooing can be expected.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Reddies River, Tumbling Shoals Creek, North Fork Reddies River, North Prong Lewis Fork, Mulberry Creek, Middle Fork Reddies River and Purlear Creek.
