A portion of west central Virginia, including the following county, Franklin. * WHEN... Until 1100 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 759 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Little Chestnut Creek, Blackwater River, Doe Run, Little Doe Run, Coles Creek, Little Creek, Furnace Creek, Hatchet Creek and Maggodee Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rocky Mount...
