Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
Portions of north central and northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, in north central North Carolina, Surry. In northwest North Carolina, Alleghany NC and Wilkes.

* WHEN...
Until 815 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 410 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Big Sandy Creek, Big Pine Creek, Cooks Creek, Cove Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Big Bugaboo Creek, Brush Creek, Camp Creek, Basin Creek, Christian Creek and Cody Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
