North Central Caldwell County in western North Carolina... * Until 930 PM EDT. * At 350 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are possible in the warned area. Significant flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Please seek higher ground NOW and avoid all streams and drainages in the Buffalo Creek watershed! HAZARD... Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Significant inundation of roads is possible.
