Flash flooding caused by repetitive periods of excessive rainfall remains possible.

The Sandhills, southern Piedmont, and southern Coastal Plain of North Carolina, including the following counties, Anson, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Wayne and Wilson.

* WHEN...
Through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Waves of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain will focus along a slow-moving cold front and produce 2 to 4 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, overnight through Friday morning.
