Canceled 5/29/23 7:30 AM Flood Advisory issued May 29 at 7:27AM EDT until May 29 at 7:45AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE... A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Carroll, Floyd, Montgomery, Patrick and Pulaski. * WHEN... Until 745 AM EDT.This advisory will be extended in time shortly. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 725 AM EDT, Radar continued to indicate periods of moderate to heavy rainfall over the advisory area. Runoff from this rainfall will result in localized flooding of poor drainage areas. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Macks Creek, Anglin Branch, Ararat River, Beaverdam Creek, Beaver Creek, Big Indian Creek, Archies Creek and Big Reed Island Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Stuart...
