At 504 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. While the heaviest rain has ended, standing water remains, and additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Smithfield, Wake Forest, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Clayton, Zebulon, Angier, RDU International, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville, Lake Wheeler, Lake Benson and William B Umstead State Park.
This includes the following streams and drainages... Walnut Creek and Crabtree Creek.
