* At 904 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain falling across the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. This includes Interstate 40 between Research Triangle and Raleigh.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. This includes Crabtree Creek, Swift Creek, Beaver Creek, and portions of Walnut Creek.

Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Wake Forest, RDU International, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, William B Umstead State Park, Research Triangle, Carpenter, New Hill, Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, and Shearon Harris Reservoir.
