A BROAD AREA OF MODERATE SNOW SHOWERS WILL AFFECT PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MARYLAND...NORTHEAST AND SOUTHERN MARYLAND...THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA...THE CITY OF BALTIMORE...THE EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE...NORTHERN AND NORTHEAST VIRGINIA...PARTS OF CENTRAL VIRGINIA...
At 555 PM EST, a broad area of moderate snow showers were located from near Hagerstown Maryland, south to Culpeper Virginia and north and east to the I-95 corridor between Baltimore Maryland to the District of Columbia.
Locations impacted include...
Frederick, Leesburg, Winchester, Martinsburg, Charles Town, Shepherdstown, Hancock, Paw Paw, Harry Grove Stadium, Millwood Pike, Ballenger Creek, Purcellville, Brunswick, Walkersville, Ranson, Berryville, Boonsboro, Inwood, Braddock Heights, and Wilson-Conococheague.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Maryland.
Interstate 81 in Maryland and West Virginia and Virginia.
Interstate 270 in Maryland.
Visibilities will drop quickly to 1 to 2 miles in the heavier snow showers. A light dusting of snow is possible on elevated and untreated surfaces.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
