Strong northwesterly flow will result in multiple lake enhanced bands of snow to migrate south and east from western Pennsylvania through later this afternoon. Rapid snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible with localized amounts of 3 inches or more under more persistent bands. Visibilities could be reduced briefly below a quarter of a mile at times as these bands of snow push through. Use caution if traveling along the I-68 and US-40 corridor west of LaVale, Maryland as well as the US-219 corridor from the PA line south into West Virginia. Hazardous travel is also possible at times along US-48 west of Moorefield, West Virginia and into the Canaan Valley of West Virginia this afternoon. Air temperatures will remain in the teens and 20s with wind chills in the single digits.
