Special Weather Statement issued September 18 at 3:17AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
In the wake of a cold front, some portions of the western Carolinas continue to see very moist surface conditions under clear skies. Patchy fog and low cloud cover has developed in the US 321 and Interstate 77 corridors, in particular near the Broad and Catawba Rivers and their lakes. Visibility in these areas may fall to one half to one quarter mile at times, and may change rapidly. Take extra caution if driving early this morning, and be prepared for a sudden loss of visibility. Slow down and use low- beam headlights, and leave more space than usual between vehicles.
Any fog should dissipate after sunrise and likely will not last past 8 AM.
