At 727 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Garner to Fuquay-Varina to 13 miles northeast of Sanford. Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Smithfield, Lillington, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Dunn, Angier, Benson, Apex, Holly Springs, and Erwin.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 95 and 70.
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 308 and 336.
