Hydrologic flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE... A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, Burke. * WHEN... Until 430 AM EDT. * IMPACTS... At 130 AM...the John's River at Arneys Store had reached a level of 10.4 feet and rising. This is above the action stage of 8.5 feet. At 9 feet, PLAYMORE BEACH ROAD AND JOHNS RIVER ROAD AND OTHER BRIDGES OVER THE RIVER USUALLY BEGIN TO FLOOD NEAR THE CONFLUENCE OF WILSON CREEK AND JOHNS RIVER. AT 11.5 FEET, PARKING LOT OF THE BOAT RAMP AT NC 18/64 WILL FLOOD ON CORPENING BRIDGE ROAD. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 119 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain earlier today, and river gauges now indicate rising stream levels. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
