Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Portions of piedmont North Carolina and western North Carolina, including the following counties, in piedmont North Carolina, Catawba, Cleveland and Lincoln. In western North Carolina, Burke and Caldwell.

* WHEN...
Until 1245 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 933 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to showers and embedded thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen and an additional inch of rain is possible through midnight.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hickory, Newton, St. Stephens, Conover, Longview, Icard, Hildebran, Belwood, Mountain View, Hickory Regional Airport, Lake Hickory, Propst, Cooksville, Vale, Startown and Northlakes.
