At 716 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge of a cluster of thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles south of Newton to 8 miles north of Salisbury, and moving east at 20 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Salisbury, Statesville, Newton, Mocksville, Hickory, Mooresville, Conover, Maiden, Spencer, and Troutman.
In addition to intense lightning, very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
