* WHAT...
Flooding conditions caused by excessive rainfall are improving but will persist into the early morning hours.

* WHERE...
A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Lee, Moore and Orange.

* WHEN...
Until 900 AM EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...
Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas along with locations adjacent to swollen creeks will persist. Some roads may remain closed early this morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 246 AM EDT, observers and emergency management reported heavy rain across the warned area with between 3 and 8 inches of rain measured which has resulted in flooding across the area. While the rain has ended, creeks and streams will remain high overnight into Monday morning and lingering flood waters will be slow to recede. Use caution when traveling early this morning as it is difficult to identify the dangers of flooding at night.

Chapel Hill, Southern Pines, Hillsborough, Pittsboro, Carthage, Siler City, Carrboro, Pinehurst, Mebane, Aberdeen, Goldston, Gibsonville, and Haw River.
