Canceled 5/29/25 6:54 PM Flood Advisory issued May 29 at 4:04PM EDT until May 29 at 7:00PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE... A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Watauga and Wilkes. * WHEN... Until 700 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 403 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Church Branch, Camp Branch, Big Bugaboo Creek, Darnell Creek, Basin Creek, Dugger Creek, Bee Tree Branch, Cove Creek, Cane Creek, Clear Branch, East Prong Roaring River and Big Sandy Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
