Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...
A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following county, Giles.

* WHEN...
Until 415 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1223 PM EDT, Several hours of rain occurred overnight producing rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches across the region, impacting Wolf Creek and Mill Creek as well as the general area around Narrows where these two creeks flow into the New River. Low lying, poor drainage, and normally flood prone areas may be flooded for the next several hours as a result. Along the Wolf Creek at Narrows, the stage at Noon EDT was 10.1 feet and nearly steady. Flood stage is 10.0 ft.
The river is in minor flood and will likely remain so through at least mid-afternoon, falling below flood stage later today.
