At 932 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles east of Marion, or 5 miles southeast of Lake James State Park, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Morganton, Valdese, Drexel, Connelly Springs, Rutherford College, Glen Alpine, Lake James State Park, Table Rock, Lake James and Lake Rhodhiss.
