Roanoke (Staunton) River at Randolph. * WHEN... From this evening to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS... At 21.0 feet, Water approaches River Road (Route 607) south of Randolph, mainly overflow or backwater from Roanoke Creek. At 22.0 feet, Black Walnut Road in Halifax County may flood due to overflow or backwater on Black Walnut Creek. At 24.0 feet, Widespread lowland flooding in fields on left bank and woods on right bank. At 25.0 feet, Water is several feet deep on portions of River Road and Black Walnut Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:45 AM EST Thursday the stage was 19.9 feet and rising. - Bankfull stage is 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 24.7 feet tomorrow morning.
