At 735 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with intense lightning and torrential rainfall 7 miles northeast of Marion, or near Lake James, moving east at 10 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Marion, Morganton, Gamewell, Lake James State Park, Table Rock, Lake James, Glen Alpine, Lake Rhodhiss, Nebo, and Collettsville.
Torrential rainfall rates up to 3 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
