Canceled 8/5/25 6:48 PM Flood Advisory issued August 5 at 6:25PM EDT until August 5 at 9:30PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE... A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following county, Mecklenburg. * WHEN... Until 930 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may remain impassible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 622 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicates rainfall has ended across Mecklenburg County. Automated streamgauges across the county show that most streams have crested and have receded below bankfull levels. However, routed flow from upstream floodwaves are now impacting the lower reaches of Fourmile Creek and McAlpine Creek. Therefore, the Flood Advisory has been reduced in size to cover the area where high flows and nuisance flooding continue. Nuisance flooding is expected to persist in a few locations in the southern part of the county for the next 1-2 hours. Therefore, the Flood Advisory will continue into the early evening Areas of ongoing concern include: 1) along Fourmile Creek near Elm Lane and along the Fourmile Creek Greenway. 2) along McAlpine Creek near the McAlpine Creek Greenway, Vista Grande Cir, and the S Lancaster Hwy. - Some locations that may continue to experience nuisance flooding include...
