At 1244 AM EDT, After a widespread 4 to 6 inch rainfall with locally higher amounts fell during the late evening hours from Greater Gastonia east to Belmont and Mount Holly, high water conditions will only slowly recede throughout the warned area during the late night hours. Please remain wary of flooded and/or barricaded roads.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
