For the Wind Advisory above 3500 feet, northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 55 mph expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory above 3500 feet, very cold wind chills of 5 below to 15 below expected, with a few peaks possibly seeing even lower values.

* WHERE...
High elevations above 3500 feet in Mitchell and Yancey Counties.

* WHEN...
For the Wind Advisory, until 7 PM EST Thursday. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight to 7 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
