* WHAT...
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of the western Piedmont of North Carolina, including the following counties, Gaston and Mecklenburg.

* WHEN...
Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 646 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Excessive runoff and flooding of poor drainage areas can be expected in the area along I-85 from Gastonia east to the west side of Charlotte.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gastonia, Southwest Charlotte, Northwest Charlotte, Mt Holly, Belmont, Cramerton, Lowell, Ranlo, Mcadenville, and Paw Creek.
