At 712 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with intense lightning and torrential rainfall 9 miles northeast of York, or 4 miles west of Lake Wylie, moving east at 15 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Gastonia, Central Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, Belmont, Pineville, Tega Cay, Clover, Newport, Cramerton, and Freedom Park.
Torrential rainfall rates up to 3 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
