Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE... A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following county, Mecklenburg. * WHEN... Until 1230 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rapid rises and high flows are expected along area creeks across the Mecklenburg County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 927 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across Mecklenburg County. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Expect rapid rises along creeks and streams throughout Mecklenburg County, including Briar Creek, Little Sugar Creek, McAlpine Creek, Stewart Creek, Irwin Creek, Four Mile Creek, McMullen Creek, Steele Creek and other small branches and tributaries. Some of these creeks are approaching bankfull stage, and with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches, high water in greenways, parks, and other low-lying areas will be possible. Expect ponding in low areas along roads and underpasses. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
