* WHAT...
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange and Wake.

* WHEN...
Until 645 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 340 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen, with the highest totals so far over Chapel Hill.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Creedmoor, Pittsboro, Wake Forest, Garner, Carrboro, Fuquay-Varina, Butner, RDU International, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Stem, Research Triangle, Parkwood and Bethesda.
